The iY 60 is a modern stylish yacht with ocean crossing ability and exciting sailing performance. The design, by Simonis-Voogd BV, naval architects, is a light displacement, moderate beam hull form combined with high aspect ratio carbon rudder and inverted "T" profile keel.
Her hull and deck are constructed from a sandwich of composite materials, namely glass fiber, epoxy skins and a foam core. The side decks, foredeck, cockpit sole and seats are covered with teak. The interior is fitted-out with furniture made from lightweight composite panels with a lacquered birch veneer.
Her build was carried out by Brent Gray Projects of South Africa to comply with the RCD criteria for CE Category A (Ocean). To this end, the vessel has been inspected by a notified body, European Certification Bureau Nederland in accordance with Module B and associated Modules covering quality assurance.
PEGASUS is a brand new vessel offered by her build owner who has entrusted the team of Brent Gray, (for the third time now), to deliver a vessel of the highest caliber possible. Following her sea trial to the states, this vessel will be available for your careful inspection and potential sea trial in Newport, Rhode Island late spring 2005.
